And if you dont want to reboot the VM after presenting the GKs, just rescan all the adapters:

for host in /sys/class/scsi_host/host*; do echo “- – -” > $host/scan; done

Vauhgn, thanks for your comment. One small correction: I didn’t write this post, this was written by David Robertson, one of the EMC vSpecialists in the Dallas, TX area. David played a lead role in getting the VMAX VSA up and running; my role was minimal, at best. All kudos go to David, Chakib, and the others who worked on this project. Thanks!

Kudos to EMC and the team on producing the VMAX VSA and actually putting to ‘the test’ with it’s use in the booth at VMworld.

It’s a very interesting time to be in the industry, and am delighted to see EMC embrace innovation in what I expect will eventually provide an additional means to meet the needs of the market.
